This '42 GMC is a new project for us. It has been in the owners family since new! Bought by his grandfather and used on the farm. This truck carries a lot of sentimental value for the family and will be treated to a full correct restoration. The owner told me he has been putting money aside for 18 years to get the truck restored! That is some amazing dedication and it means alot that we got the job. As many of you know during WWII most of our nations production shifted toward providing for the war effort. This of course makes a civilian spec '42 GMC truck quite rare. I did some research and found that in june of 1942 all GM civilian truck production was ceased.
I will be posting up photos as we move along so stay tuned! Click on any of the pictures to see them in full size.
Just off the trailer...

The GM straight six is certainly legendary. the GMC version has a slightly different C.I. measurement. And insert bearings too! It won't be long until this one is out getting rebuilt.
